As an authorised JCB dealer Scot Agri supplies three main types of JCB agricultural loader, each built for a different kind of job. Skid steer and compact track loaders: Our range, including the 155, 270 and 270T, uses JCB's Powerboom single-arm design, giving 60% better visibility than conventional twin-arm machines, along with a zero turning radius for working in confined spaces. They're well suited to mucking out, bedding down and general yard maintenance in tight buildings and yards.

Telescopic wheel loaders: Our JCB TM range, from the compact TM110 to the heavy-duty TM420S, combines a telescopic boom with a wheel loader's speed and articulated steering, giving height and reach without losing manoeuvrability. They suit silage clamps, grain stores and any job that needs genuine lift height as well as speed around the yard.

Wheel loaders: Our JCB wheel loader range runs from the compact 403 to the flagship 457S, spanning operating weights from under 3 tonnes to nearly 20 tonnes. They're built for pure bulk handling, moving feed, bedding, grain, silage and muck as fast as possible.

For most mixed farms, a telehandler is the better all-round choice. Its telescopic boom reaches up and out from a single position, and its quick-hitch carriage swaps between buckets, pallet forks, bale spikes and grabs in moments, so one machine covers stacking, loading, yard work and general handling. A wheel loader can't reach or extend in the same way, and its attachment range is narrower.

That said, farm size and type is the real deciding factor. A wheel loader is built specifically for high-volume, repetitive bulk handling, filling and emptying a bucket over and over, moving grain, silage or muck at speed. On a larger arable or dairy operation shifting serious tonnage every day, a wheel loader's cycle times and bucket capacity can outperform a telehandler doing the same single job, even though it's less versatile overall.

Telehandler: best where the work is varied, bale stacking, pallet and feed handling, muck-out, reaching into buildings or over trailer sides, and where one machine needs to cover most jobs on the farm.

Wheel loader: best where the work is high-volume and repetitive, shifting large quantities of loose material fast, and where a dedicated bucket machine earns its keep through sheer throughput.

Telescopic wheel loader: a genuine middle ground. It pairs a telehandler-style telescopic boom with a wheel loader's speed, articulated steering and central driving position, giving reach and height for stacking alongside quick, efficient cycles for bulk material. For farms that want both jobs covered without running two separate machines, this is often the most practical option.

Servicing: All servicing is carried out by factory-trained engineers working to JCB manufacturer standards. Scot Agri stocks a wide range of JCB loaders, so there's a machine sized for most operational requirements, from confined yard work to the heaviest bulk handling.

Compact loaders: At the smaller end, the JCB TM110 telescopic wheel loader lifts 1,100kg to a height of 3.5m, built for tasks that need real capability in a small footprint. Alongside it, the compact JCB 403, 403 Plus and 403E wheel loaders carry a 0.4–0.5m³ shovel and a payload of roughly 476–640kg, well suited to yard work, tool carrying and confined buildings.

Top of the range: At the other end, the JCB TM420S, the largest of our telescopic wheel loaders, lifts 4,100kg to a height of 5.45m, powered by a 173hp/129kW engine with an 8-speed Powershift transmission. It's built for the heaviest grain, silage and bale handling on bigger arable and dairy operations.

In between, models like the JCB TM180, TM220 and TM280 to TM320S, and the JCB 407 to 457S wheel loaders, fill out the range for everyday livestock and general farm loading. Our team can match lift capacity and reach to the work you actually need done.

JCB loaders are built to be versatile, and are compatible with a wide range of agricultural attachments, including pallet forks, grain buckets and shovels, bale spikes, and muck grabs. Exactly what fits depends on the type of loader and its hitch.

Skid steer and compact track loaders: fitted with an industry-standard quick hitch, so they take not just JCB attachments but attachments from any skid steer brand, giving the widest compatibility in the range.

Wheel loaders and telescopic wheel loaders: fitted with a JCB quick hitch (mechanical or hydraulic, depending on model), with hydraulic flow scaling up with machine size, from around 70 litres per minute on smaller machines to 125 litres per minute on the largest, so bigger machines can run heavier, more hydraulically demanding attachments.

As a rough guide, lighter machines like the 403 or TM110 suit pallet forks and general-purpose shovels for everyday yard work, while larger machines like the TM280 upwards or the 413S to 457S take heavier grain shovels, bale spikes and muck grabs for high-volume handling. All models come with a quick hitch as standard, so swapping attachments on the day is straightforward.

The JCB Teleskid takes JCB's skid steer platform and adds a telescopic boom, and the result does the work of four machines in one, a forklift, telehandler, compact wheel loader and skid steer loader, without four separate machines taking up yard space.

Extra reach: A standard skid steer's arms move through a fixed arc. The Teleskid's telescopic boom reaches over four metres high and more than two metres forward, letting it place loads at height or distance that a standard skid steer simply can't.

Still built for tight spaces: A zero turning radius keeps the Teleskid just as manoeuvrable in confined yards as a standard skid steer.

Safer to work around: Side-door cab access means the operator gets in and out without climbing over the attachment at the front, unlike standard front-entry skid steers.

Better visibility and comfort: Visibility to the attachment is 60% better than conventional twin-arm machines, and the Teleskid has the largest cab in its class, with electric-over-hydraulic controls and JCB's SmoothRide system and parallel lift for steadier, more comfortable loads.

Choose the Teleskid over a standard skid steer where you want one machine to genuinely replace several, particularly if reach at height, such as loading trailers or stacking bales, is a regular part of the job alongside typical skid steer yard work.

Yes. The JCB 403E is Scot Agri's zero-emission, fully electric compact wheel loader, part of the wider JCB E-TECH range, and it's built to match its diesel equivalent on performance.

Battery and charging: Power comes from a 20kWh lithium-ion battery on a 96V system. The on-board charger connects to a standard AC mains supply, taking around 8 hours for a 20–80% charge, well suited to overnight charging in the yard. Where a faster turnaround is needed, an off-board fast charger brings the battery to a full charge in under 2 hours.

Compared to the diesel 403 / 403 Plus: The 403E is closely matched to its diesel counterpart on size and lift performance, similar operating weight (around 2.7 tonnes), the same 0.4–0.5m³ shovel capacity, and a comparable payload (up to 898kg in a standard-arm, counterweighted, fork-fitted configuration). The real difference is how it's powered: no mechanical engine means significantly less noise and vibration, and maintenance-free electrical components mean less time spent on daily checks and servicing.

Use cases: With zero emissions at the point of use and much lower noise, the 403E suits enclosed spaces such as livestock buildings, work in noise-sensitive areas, and any site where air quality or working hours close to neighbours matter.
