The JCB PowerBoom is a single sided boom design that provides greater strength, better visibility, and improved safety. It offers up to 20% more torsional strength than traditional twin-arm skid steer designs. The single boom allows JCB to use a side entry door which removes the need to climb over attachments when entering or exiting the cab. This makes JCB skid steers one of the safest on the market.

It depends on your ground conditions. The wheeled 155 and 270 are faster and more manoeuvrable on hard standing and yard work. The tracked 270T spreads weight over a larger area for better flotation and traction on soft or wet ground, useful for silage clamps or wetter fields. Worth knowing there's a trade-off: the 270T is heavier than the 270 (4,906kg vs 3,852kg) and has slightly less lift capacity (2,634kgf vs 2,747kgf), the price of the extra grip. If most of your work is on hard standing, go wheeled. If you're regularly on soft or wet ground, the tracks earn their keep.

Yes, that's really the point of the telescopic boom. With over four metres of lift height and two metres of forward reach, it can tip a load up and over a high-sided trailer or feeder wall from one position, something a standard skid steer's fixed-arm geometry doesn't let you do without repositioning.

The Teleskid is built for it, with a 125 lpm high flow hydraulic system as standard, suited to demanding attachments. For the base 155/270/270T skid steer and compact track loader range, I don't have a confirmed hydraulic flow figure from the brochure I've got, so I can't say for certain how it compares. Worth checking with your local depot if a specific high-flow attachment is what you have in mind.

It's a switch that lets the operator toggle the joystick control layout between ISO pattern (the industry standard) and H pattern (a more traditional backhoe-style layout). It's useful where different operators on the same farm have trained on different control setups, since they can switch to whichever pattern they're used to rather than relearning the controls. It's standard on both the skid steer/compact track loader range and the Teleskid.
