Scot Agri Seed Drills

Scot Agri supplies disc seed drills, tine seed drills, and 3-point seeder drills from Horsch.

Scot Agri Disc Drills

Disc drills are well known for sowing precision, adaptability to different soil types (including areas with lots of residue) and creating less soil disturbance. With a disc drill, a roller disc cuts a furrow in the soil, the seed is laid and covered with the soil with another part of the machine as the disc drill moves forward. Scot Agri supplies a wide range of Horsch seed drills. The Horsch Pronto DC range has a low Hp requirement and precise grain placement. The Avatar SD range is extremely versatile and can be used for direct drilling in cultivated soils. The Horsch Serto SC range is a compact seed drill which comes in both 10 and 12m working width which is without front tools.

Scot Agri Tine Drills

Tine seed drills pierce the soil to create a small furrow for the seed. After the seeds are in place they are then covered by the drill. Tine seed drills are versatile and can be used on a variety of soil types including wet soil. They also aerate the soil as they work which encourages root growth and they are generally considered to be more cost-effective. Scot Agri Supplies Sprinter SC tine seed drills which combine the task of soil preparation, seeding, and fertilisation in just one pass making them extremely efficient.

Scot Agri 3 Point Seeder Drills

3 Point seeder drills are attached to the back of a tractor, these can either be disc or tiny based and they are moved entirely by your tractor. These drills are very flexible, and farmers can easily adjust the height and depth of the drill for precise planting. The Horsch Express KR range is a 3-point seed drill with rotary harrow kredo, which allows for intensive preparation of the seedbed. It is available with a single or a double hopper.

The Horsch Partner FT Hopper range gives new levels of flexibility with the ability to utilise different components like seed and fertiliser. The pressurised hopper stops any dust being released in front of the tractor and there is a single and double hopper option available.

Scot Agri also supplies the Horsch strip cultivator Focus TD range, which completes three passes in one. It can loosen soil, place fertiliser and sow and in one with row widths of 30cm for rape and 15cm for cereals.

Scot Agri Cultivators & Disc Harrows

Cultivators used either before planting, to prepare a smooth seedbed, or after a crop has been planted to remove weeds work by moving through the soil to move and aerate the soil. Scot Agri supplies a wide range of Horsch cultivators.

The Horsch Cruiser XL range has a tine spacing of 15cm and a 6-bar design,it is perfect for stubble cultivation, seedbed preparation and mixing in catch crops. A seed drill places seed into the soil at a consistent depth and spacing. The machine opens the soil using tines or discs, places the seed into the slot, and then covers it with soil using press wheels or harrows. This creates a uniform seedbed, which improves germination and supports even crop growth. Modern drills from Horsch use advanced metering systems and precision technology to deliver accurate results in all conditions.

Seed drilling is the process of planting seeds into the soil in evenly spaced rows at a controlled depth. This method improves germination, reduces seed waste, and helps crop establishment by creating ideal growing conditions. Seed drilling is more accurate and efficient than broadcasting seed and is now the standard method for arable and grassland crop establishment.
