On a positive note, Scot Agri has some exciting news this month: JCB has launched the much-anticipated new centre pivot telehandler – the JCB TM280 and TM280S. This compact agricultural telescopic wheel loader is perfect for those who need the power and comfort of the TM320S but in a smaller, more manoeuvrable chassis that fits into tighter spaces like low sheds.
The JCB TM280 and TM280S fit neatly between the TM180 and TM320, offering a balance of size and performance that’s ideal for a variety of agricultural tasks. Let's break down the key features that make these machines stand out.

Powerful and Efficient Engines

The TM280S offers better road efficiency and finer control for tough jobs.

Both models are fitted with the 140 ltr/min piston pump hydraulic circuit, delivering 90 ltr/min of oil flow to auxiliary services. This is ideal for powering attachments like straw bedders, feed buckets, or bucket brushes.
One of the standout features on both models is the flow control dial located on the side console. This dial allows operators to easily adjust the flow rate and even switch the flow direction – making attachment use more intuitive and efficient.

All hitches come standard with a single-line hydraulic brake system, with an option for a twin-line hydraulic brake system for added towing performance. If a hydraulic pickup hitch is selected, the machine also comes with a hitch camera for increased visibility.
JCB TM280 vs JCB TM280S
For customers looking for the perfect balance of productivity and performance, the TM280S is the model to choose, thanks to its DualTech Transmission and enhanced towing capabilities. The TM280, on the other hand, offers a more traditional hydrostatic option, perfect for those who don’t need the added speed or towing features but still require power and versatility.
