JCB has added two new models to its Agricultural Loadall line-up, and Scot Agri are pleased to be bringing both to our customers.

The all-new JCB 546-70 and JCB 555-70 telescopic handlers offer more lift capacity, more power, and a refreshed cab over the machines they replace. They are giving farmers, contractors, and mixed operations extra capability from one of the most established names in agricultural handling.

Whether you know them as loadalls, telehandlers, or telescopic handlers, these new 7-metre machines are built to lift more, reach further, and keep operators comfortable through long working days.

Meet the JCB 546-70 Loadall

The new 546-70 sits in the middle of JCB’s agricultural telehandler offering, designed for farmers who need a versatile, hard-working machine for everyday yard, field, and livestock duties.

       Maximum lift capacity: 4,600kg

       Maximum lift height: 7.04m

Three performance packs: AGRISUPER (130hp), AGRIXTRA (150hp) and AGRIPRO (173hp).

4.8-litre JCB DieselMAX engine, fully Stage V compliant.

Award-winning DualTech VT transmission with up to 40kph road speed (50kph on AGRIPRO).

Repositioned compensation rams forward of the main boom pivot, twin underslung rams, and a larger lift ram combine to increase tear-out force and lifting power across the range.

In practice, that means the 546-70 will push deeper into a silage clamp, muck heap or grain pile, and lift more when it gets there.

Meet the JCB 555-70 Loadall

For operations that need more lift capacity without stepping up to a dedicated wheel loader, the all-new JCB 555-70 telescopic handler is worth a close look.

It lifts 5.5 tonnes, which is 31% more than the 542-70 it builds on.

       Maximum lift capacity: 5,500kg

       Maximum lift height: 7.04m

Available in AGRIXTRA (150hp) and AGRIPRO (173hp) specifications

4.8-litre JCB DieselMAX engine, fully Stage V compliant.

Award-winning DualTech VT transmission with up to 40kph road speed (50kph on AGRIPRO).

The 555-70 suits farms and contractors regularly tackling large bale stacks, high-sided grain carts, muck heaps and biomass, the jobs where raw lift capacity is the key requirement.

Built Around the Operator

Both the 546-70 and 555-70 share JCB’s latest operator-focused platform, with features that make long days in the cab more productive:

CommandPlus cab: more cab space, lower noise levels and improved all-round visibility, with new one-piece multi-curved glazing that increases forward visibility by 14%.

IntelliAssist: JCB’s latest operator assistance system, offering horizontal and vertical e-fence limits, return-to-dig, return-to-load and vertical lift.

IntelliWeigh: integrated real-time load weighing for accurate loading straight from the cab, with no calibration required and reporting via LiveLink.

Smart Hydraulics: regenerative circuit, auto SmoothRide, boom-end damping and up to 160 l/min variable displacement piston pumps.

Sway Control (optional on AGRIXTRA and AGRIPRO): a hydraulic levelling system that keeps the machine vertical on cross-slopes and uneven ground.

LiveLink telematics: standard across the range, for remote performance reporting and proactive service support.

Everyday mixed-farm lifting, dairy and livestock yards

High-capacity bulk handling of grain, muck, silage and biomass

Which JCB Loadall Is Right for You?

For most mixed, livestock and dairy farms, the JCB 546-70 hits a sensible balance. It lifts more than the outgoing 542-70, manoeuvres well in tight yards, and offers three power packs so the machine can be matched to the depth of work. If your day-to-day involves feeding, mucking, bedding and general handling, the 546-70 is a capable all-rounder.

If you are regularly stacking large square bales, loading high-sided trailers, handling biomass or moving larger tonnages of grain and muck, the 555-70 earns its place. The new N-shaped boom and uprated axles mean it can take on bulk-handling jobs that once required a much bigger machine, without giving up the agility of a 7-metre telehandler.

JCB 546-70 and 555-70 Loadall FAQs

What is the difference between a loadall, a telehandler and a telescopic handler?

There isn’t one. They are all the same machine. “Loadall” is JCB’s long-standing name for the telescopic handler, which JCB invented back in 1977. The three terms are used interchangeably across the industry.

What is new about the JCB 546-70 and 555-70?

Both models deliver more lift capacity, more tear-out force, and benefit from the latest CommandPlus cab with improved visibility. The 546-70’s maximum lift is up 10% to 4,600kg. The 555-70 introduces a new N-shaped boom and a 5,500kg lift capacity, which is 31% more than the 542-70.

Can I get IntelliAssist and IntelliWeigh on both models?

Yes. Both operator assistance packages are available across the 546-70 and 555-70 range, with full functionality on AGRIPRO specifications.

What top speed do these loadalls reach?

AGRISUPER and AGRIXTRA variants travel at up to 40kph, while AGRIPRO-spec 546-70 and 555-70 loadalls feature the 50kph DualTech VT transmission for quicker road journeys between yard and field.

Which variant should I choose: AGRISUPER, AGRIXTRA or AGRIPRO?

AGRISUPER (546-70 only) suits smaller mixed farms where running costs are the priority. AGRIXTRA is the popular mid-spec, adding power and comfort for mainstream livestock, dairy and arable operations. AGRIPRO is the flagship specification for contractors and large-scale operations, with the highest power, the 50kph DualTech VT transmission and the full suite of operator assistance features.
