We are pleased to introduce Alastair Farquhar, who has recently joined the team as a Field Parts Representative, supporting customers across Aberdeenshire!

With a lifetime spent around agriculture and more than two decades of experience in parts, Alastair brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role all with one clear goal: helping customers get the parts they need, when they need them, with minimal downtime.

A Lifetime in Agriculture

Alastair’s connection to farming started from a young age, having grown up on a family farm. Alastair went on to study at agricultural college, completing a HND in Agriculture before moving into parts.

He then spent 23 years gaining in-depth knowledge and building strong relationships with customers in and around Fraserburgh at Scot Agri. This wealth of experience means Alastair understands not only the machinery, but also the day-to-day pressures and challenges farmers and contractors face.

A Parts Department on the Road

In his new role, no two days are the same. Alastair spends much of his time out on the road, visiting customers, delivering parts, and acting as a first point of contact for all parts-related enquiries across Aberdeenshire.

With a fully stocked van, laptop and phone, he operates as a mobile parts department, bringing parts directly to customers rather than them having to leave the job at hand.

Following the closure of our Fraserburgh Depot, Alastair now provides a local service, ensuring customers still have quick and easy access to Scot Agri parts support!

Reducing Downtime When It Matters Most

Downtime is one of the biggest challenges during busy periods, and Alastair’s role is designed to help reduce it wherever possible. By delivering parts directly onsite, he helps customers stay productive and avoid unnecessary travel.

Alastair also supports our remote engineers, ensuring that they have the parts to keep machines running and customers moving.

Supporting Customers Across Aberdeenshire

Alastair covers Fraserburgh, Huntly and surrounding areas, a large territory that relies on strong communication and trusted relationships. Many Scot Agri customers already know Alastair well and that familiarity makes a difference.

‘I’ve known a lot of customers for years” he explains. “They just pick up the phone and call me if they need something.’

Alongside regular visits and phone calls, Alastair keeps customers up to date about special offers and promotions, helping them get the best value from Scot Agri’s parts service.

What Sets Scot Agri Parts Apart

When asked what makes Scot Agri’s parts service stand out, Alastair highlights reliability, value for money, and knowledgeable staff.

‘There’s a big team of experienced people behind the scenes, and everyone is always willing to help’, he says. ‘We do our best to support customers however we can.’

Life Beyond the Role

Outside of work, Alastair has a passion for vintage machinery. He owns an old grey Ferguson tractor and regularly takes part in charity tractor runs!
